A Secretary of Education should know something about public schools

UPDATE:  Deadline passed.  Betsy DeVos was confirmed.  😦  But California senators voted against her nomination.  Which is a victory.

This action has a deadline of February 1.  That’s the date of the floor vote on the nomination of Betsy DeVos.

Called Senator Dianne Feinstein’s office and said this: “I am requesting that you oppose the nomination of Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education. A person who has contempt for public education should not be in charge of education policy at the national level.”

I called the San Francisco office because it’s easier to leave a message. In fact, I called last night, so I could be sure I could just leave a message and then get to bed.
