This week’s Thank You goes to the unexpected “breakout star” of the Democratic Party. But before we get to that, here’s a happy reminder of why you do these thank you cards in the first place.
Remember when we all sent thank you cards to beleaguered EPA staffers? Well, the EPA staffers noticed. They even told a Washington Post reporter about it. Here’s the article. If you don’t feel like reading the whole article, here’s the relevant line: In addition to sending them cookies, supporters “sent actual cards, such as one a manager shared with employees that had a picture of Yosemite National Park’s Half Dome on the outside and a note inside that said, essentially, “We’ve got your back.” One EPA employee, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal, said the cookies, cards and call were “bright spots” in any otherwise “grim” time for many there.”
See? Your resistance work matters. Keep it up.
On Monday, Congressman Adam Schiff gave awesome opening remarks to the hearing with FBI Director Comey. He was calm, collected and clearly connected the dots between Trump and his Russian connections. He deserves a thank you card. (Or, if you are feeling lazy… a thank you comment on his Facebook page.)
Address: Congressman Adam Schiff, House Intelligence Committee, 2372 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C. 20515
